About Us

Aurinko Film is a creative collective of Sámi and Kven filmmakers committed to authentic storytelling across documentary and fiction. Our name, derived from the Kven word for ‘sun,’ symbolises our focus on the people and cultures of the North. By prioritising Indigenous voices and self-representation, we ensure that our narratives—covering culture, identity, and contemporary society—are told on our own terms.
